In English, we work hard to ensure that our children leave each class and year group with clear knowledge of writing, reading, spelling, speaking and listening. We teach using topic based learning and themed texts to support our children learning and keep them engaged in writing. We ensure that the children have access to a range of complex and varied texts, to foster a love of reading, which in turn effects the content of writing. Children also have lessons on grammar, speaking and listening, drama and grammar to support their wider knowledge. We pride ourselves on having a history of excellent achievement, attainment and progress for all of our learners, including those with special educational needs and barriers.
