Welcome to our family school where everyone matters, 'was lost but is found" Luke 15:11-32
Attendance, Absenses and Holidays

As a family we work together to ensure the highest attendance and progress possible for all of our children. We believe in collaboration between staff and parents as we understand how vital it is to share the same ethos and passion for learning. The school day begins between 8.25-8.45am where we offer a 20 minute drop off period, utilising our turning circle. Registration starts at 8.45am, children arriving later than 9.00am will be considered late.

Should your child be ill, it is vital that the school is informed as early as possible via e-mail, the phone system or class dojo direct to the office. If we have not heard from you by 10am, school staff will be contacting you for an explanation, as it our duty to ensure safeguarding for all of students.

At Ingoldisthorpe Primary School we have excellent attendance of approximately 96%.

If you choose to take a holiday during term time, the absence will be marked as unauthorised under new guidance. Any child taken out of school for more than 5 days, or 10 sessions within a rolling 10 week period, fits the criteria for Norfolk County Council's fixed penalty notices. The fixed penalty notice is set by the new guidance. For more information about the new legislation please see our attendance policy on our policy page. There is no right to appeal a fixed penalty notice, persistent absences may in some cases lead to a prosecution by Norfolk County Council's attendance team. However, the DfE advices schools that they should grant a leave of absence during term time only in exceptional circumstances, considering each request on a case by case basis. We recognise the value and added benefits of family holidays but it is exceptionally unlikely that any absence would be authorised or be classed as an exceptional circumstance.

Should you have any questions or queries please contact the school office, your childs classroom teacher or the head directly.
